Everyday I see you rise from the Earth,
it is you that awakes my nerves.
The warm touch you give me every day,
from the bed in which I lay.

Fluffy and white you pass me by,
sometimes dark when you cry.
To feel your touch and your existence,
with no machines or any assistance.

A gentle light you spread through the land,
in places where I need a hand.
Changing in appearance everyday we meet,
many surprises you still keep.

Shining like a jewel in the sky,
washing away all the sly.
Guiding countless through the deep,
but somehow I know I could not keep.

for what reason I cannot see.
For pleasure or status,
or is it just a curse.

Who gave you the right to insult my rights?
Who gave you the power to control my might?
Who gave you the authority to restrict my fight?
Who gave you the darkness to block my light?

Jokes are funny for the young.
Joy is brought for the lucky one.
Warmth you give just like the sun.
Knowledge you sing like none.

Threats are no laughing matter to receive.
Curse and insult as you please.
Wounds and bruises you inflict with ease.
your weapon that is I cannot cease.

A shield of valor is all I have.
Hit me not for I am prepared.
No weapon to pound or carve.
Only to have me feel your wrath.
